The Serbian Genetic Society was established in Belgrade in 1968.
The Serbian Genetic Society is scientific society of researchers and specialists,
profesors and students involved in Science of Genetics.The major activities of
the Society are to develope and advance research in the field of genetics;
to promote application of the results in agriculture,foresty, medicine and education;
and to apply ethical principles in the scientific work.
The activities of the Society are conducted through Sections in line with the Statute
and laws that legislate the operations of this type of society. As a part of its
regular activities, the Society publishes (in addition to book of papers, monographs, etc)
regulary, three volumens per year of the scientific journal "Genetika" ("Genetics"),
which is then distributed to members and related institutions in the country and abroad.
